Margot was born in Frankfurt, Germany. She and her family fled Germany when the Nazi Party came to power, going to the Netherlands where they would later go into hiding. As an exemplary student, she aspired to become a nurse in Palestine. Margot was called to be deported to a forced labor camp in July 1942. She and her family went into hiding the day after recieving this letter. She was arrested in 1944 with the rest of the people in the Annex. She was sent to Auschwitz and later Bergen-Belsen, where she died of typhus.
